Cracked Teeth in Kirkland, WA

As the result of an injury or wearing down over time, a cracked tooth can cause pain and lead to difficulty speaking or eating. There are several types of cracks that can occur on the tooth, including craze lines, a fractured cusp, a split tooth, and a vertical root fracture. The way the crack is classified depends on the depth and location of the crack on the tooth, which also helps to identify the best way to treat the tooth. It is important to seek help at Prime Endodontics as soon as you suspect a crack so your tooth has a higher chance of being saved. A crack in your tooth cannot be healed, but our dental practitioners will try to treat it so your tooth is saved and your pain can be relieved.

The position and extent of the crack in your tooth help our team determine the best treatment option. After a complete dental exam, we will explain your situation and come up with a plan for treatment. The main goal is to either avoid an infection or completely remove any infected areas. For a fractured cusp, a filling or crown can fix the tooth and prevent the crack from growing. If the crack has reached the interior of the tooth, then a root canal could be performed. For a vertical root fracture or split tooth, endodontic surgery might be needed. In some cases, the tooth may require an extraction if it cannot be repaired to prevent the infection from spreading to your gums and other teeth.

Addressing a cracked tooth promptly not only alleviates pain but also plays a crucial role in maintaining overall dental health. Here are some benefits of seeking treatment for a cracked tooth at Prime Endodontics in Kirkland, WA:

  • Prevents infection and bacteria from spreading
  • Reinstates tooth function
  • Reduces risk of further damage
  • Improves the appearance of your tooth

I had my second root canal in a week performed by a very caring and skilled Dr. Cohenca. I can honestly say the experience was much easier and painless than I feared. In fact it was a lot like getting a cavity filled, just takes longer, about an hour. I was able to leave the office and go for a pain-free cold smoothie on the way home! The Dr. clearly explained the procedure with images, and I could see the before and after X-rays. He was assisted by skilled and compassionate professionals who made sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure. The front desk staff is very competent as well.

If you need a root canal, look no further. Dr Cohenca is the only endodontist I will go to for root canals. I have had so many traumatic ones over the years, but for my last 2(which were repairs of old root canals), he fixed me right up. So professional, yet so sweet and caring. I believe him to be the best out there! He is honest and lets you know exactly what is going on, as well as having a dental office with the latest and greatest technology so you can even watch your own procedure.

Was able to visit this clinic in two different occasions and I recommend Prime Endodontics, very professional staff, very caring, they made sure I was comfortable and my dental procedure was excellent, I Receive a post-op call after each visit to check on my progress, that is something I really appreciate. My dentist informed me that he refer me to this clinic because of the good comments and excellent ratings, I can confirm that it is true and I do recommend this clinic.

Dr. Cohenca is so highly skilled & excellent at what he does. I had a very challenging root canal, and was very anxious. I needn’t have been - I experienced very minimal discomfort during and after the procedure. His staff was great - just couldn’t have asked for more. I would recommend Dr. Cohenca highly!!
